No, not at an auction.
We listed the house for sale on October 14th and signed a contract to sell on the 16th. God is really working in all of this and it’s very excited. Last week was the inspection and everything went smoothly there. Now we’re just waiting for closing. The date is set for Nov 16th, right now.
Whew, what a week! We moved out last Sunday and spent all week painting, doing trim, and having carpet put down. We signed with the realtor today. The house looks great! I plan to take and post some pictures tomorrow. We might have a buyer already. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens in the next few days.
The kids aren’t sure what to think of all of this! They are excited about getting a new home, but can’t quite understand why we can’t move in now. Jonathan keeps telling me our house is ready for us to move into now. Too bad it’s still just some dirt! We have our appointment on Oct 23rd to finalize the upgrades on the house. I’m looking forward to seeing it get started, although it’ll probably be another month or so before they start on the foundation.
The last class in our second FPU course
Author: Administrator : Category: No More Debt & Financial Peace UniversityLast night was our last class in this course. Like our first FPU course, it was a great success. This class is just awesome! If you ever have a chance to take FPU, do it. It’s well worth the money.
Here are some stats from the class.
-
In 13 weeks, 38 people:
- there was $22,915 saved for emergency funds
- $30,640 saved for total savings overall
- and $69,275 in debt was paid off!!
Our pastor supports this course so much, that he promises that members who complete the course by not missing more than one class during the 13 weeks will get half of the cost of the course back ($45). In our first course, the numbers started to fall after we got past the debt payoff portion. This time, numbers stayed pretty even the whole course. That is awesome because people will not only know how to get out of debt, but how to plan for retirement, how to shop for insurance, plan for college and how to give. Last night a good number of members got half of their money back. It’s a great incentive for completion.
